Empowering PE Teachers: Mastering Student Motivation

An online group coaching program empowering PE teachers to go from feeling overwhelmed and exhausted to feeling confident and energized so they can inspire all students to thrive and succeed at high levels.

The Problem

PE Teachers are Overwhelmed and Exhausted

PE teachers report feeling overwhelmed and exhausted trying to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that meets the needs of all students. One of the most common challenges mentioned by PE teachers has to do with student motivation and is starting to burn PE teachers out.

What PE Teachers Have Shared

In the Spring of 2024, I interviewed many PE teachers across North America. They all reinforced what research has shown: student motivation is a big challenge and concern in PE class, and it’s not getting better.

Looking Ahead

To help find ways to navigate the world of motivation effectively, PE teachers must understand what drives student motivation and how this can create engaging and meaningful learning environments for their students and themselves.

Physical Literacy Education Coordinator

This is a great program, it helped me to open my eyes to see more of the scape of PHE to better motivate my students at all levels. I have been teaching at the same school for a long time now and was looking for a different perspective on how I could support students in our current world, and this program gave me a variety of ideas on how to adapt what I am already doing to meet the needs of more students and get more students engaged on a regular basis.

Group Coaching Benefits

When it comes to professional development (PD) for PE teachers, there are few options available to help them learn and grow their practices in meaningful ways.

This group coaching program offers PE teachers something unique and rare to find in most PD experiences: learning about PE-specific content and concepts applicable to their classes from an experienced PE teacher.

This group coaching program will bring together practicing PE teachers to learn about and grow their practices in contextually relevant ways.

PE teachers in the group coaching program will learn with and from each other, challenge each other, and support each other throughout the program.
